Death of Church Member – Helen Chistoff

h-chistoffCHISTOFF, Helen Vera Jean (nee Teluck) – Passed away on Monday, March 16, 2015 at Niagara Falls General Hospital in her 86th year. She is survived by her husband Nickolas. Sadly missed by her sons Nickolas Jr. (Donna) and their family, Andrew Joseph, daughters Helen Marie Olson, Barbara O’Neill (Jerry) and their family. Also survived by her sister Margaret “Peggy” Muka Meierhoff and family, cousin Eleanor Black and family, sister-in-law Alexandra Culley (Sasha) and family and several nieces and nephews. Helen was a long time member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church serving as a supervisor of the Luther League, camp counselor, assistant to the Pastor during the service and as a choir member for many years. She was involved with the community theatrical world, also doing background work for several movies. She also was a Real Estate Agent for Liptak Real Estate. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, 57 Griffith St, Welland on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 11 a.m. A private family interment will take place at a later date. Death of Church Member – Rudy Ebert

rudyEbertEBERT, Rudolf “Rudy” – Passed away peacefully, in his 84th year, at the Welland Hospital on Saturday, January 31, 2015, two days after celebrating his 60th wedding anniversary with his beloved wife Sylvia (nee Rumpel). Cherished father of Debbie Blanchard (David), Terry Lochhead (Mike) and Kimberly Ross (Chip). Proud grandfather of Cheryl Metcalf (Mat), Paul Blanchard (Roxanne), Allison Lochhead-Marshall (Curt), Scott Blanchard (Sarah), Courtney Ross, Lauren Ross and great-grandfather of Lillie, Charlotte, Abby, Aprilynn, Bridget and Autumn. Predeceased by his parents Adolf and Olga Ebert, brothers Ertmann and Eric and sister Erna. Rudy retired from General Motors after over 25 years of service. He was a long time member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church. The family will receive friends at the H.L. Cudney Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Welland on Tuesday, February 3rd from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Pastor Jukka Saarinen will conduct the Funeral Service in the Cudney Chapel on Wednesday, February 4th at 11 a.m. followed by interment in Overholt Cemetery.
