Death of Church Member – Frank Hornich

HORNICH, Mr. Frank Joseph – After a lengthy illness, Frank passed away at the St. Catharines General Hospital on Saturday, February 2, 2013 in his 89th year. Loving husband of Augustine (Gusty) for 59 years and dear father of Shirley and good friend Dan Twining.He will be missed by his brother Anthony, brother-in-law Oswald (Annemarie) Gosas and sisters-in-law Elvira Pravitz, Martha (David) Don, Emilie (Ted) Blaha as well as several nieces and nephews. He owned and operated Hornich’s Foods specializing in Horseradish before becoming an active member of the Welland District Real Estate Board and served as its President for one year and later received the F.R.I. designation. He was honoured by the Board in 1992 for 25 years in the Real Estate Profession. Frank was also a certified Canadian Residential Appraiser (C.R.A.). Friends will be received by the family on Friday, February 8th from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the JAMES L. PEDLAR FUNERAL HOME , 1292 Pelham Street, Fonthill. The memorial service will take place at St. Matthews Lutheran Church, 57 Griffith Street, Welland on Saturday, February 9th at 11:00 am. A private interment will take place at Victoria Lawn Cemetery on a later date. As an expression of sympathy donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Arthritis Society.
