On December 24, 2020 Rick peacefully passed away in his 66th year. He was the beloved husband of 37 years to Melanie (Corbett), cherished father of Stephen (Sarah), Tyler and Bryden (Dunn) and loved by grandsons Nathan and Dylan (Corbett). He will be missed by sisters Norma and Deborah and his many nieces and nephews and of course his dog Tolkien.
Rick was born in Port Colborne and predeceased by his parents Norman and Eileen Corbett. He was a letter carrier for almost 40 years and was actively involved in the local union (CUPW) serving as vice president for many years. Rick was a Big Brother, Cub Scout /Rover Leader and a wonderful foster parent. He became a model train enthusiast and thoroughly enjoyed his new hobby. He was a true gentleman, soft spoken, kind and thoughtful with a dry sense of humour. As a skilled carpenter, his work always displayed creativity, style and perfection.
Rick will be cremated, and a church service and celebration of life will take place at a later date. Our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Leber, Nurse practitioner Tammy Degelder and the whole ODS team at Juravinski Cancer Centre. We thank you for your dedication and commitment to Rick’s emotional, mental and physical well-being. God Bless You! In lieu of flowers, donations to the Juravinski Stem Cell program would be greatly appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the HULSE & ENGLISH FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 75 Church Street, St. Catharines (905-684-6346). Online condolences may be shared at http://www.hulseandenglish.com
