GENZE, Elsa (nee Liske) – Passed away peacefully at the Welland Hospital on Sunday, October 30, 2016 in her 95th year. Predeceased by her beloved husband Henry Genze (1993). Cherished mother of Frank and Ed. Dearly missed by her sister Rose Armburst. Predeceased also by her brothers Ted and Fini Liske, sister Ida Kore (Joe) and Lina and Parents Rongold and Bertha Liske. Born on May 16, 1922 in Yugoslovia, Elsa moved to Welland in 1953 where she worked at the Welland Hospital from 1953 – 1955, then worked at the Welland Curling Club from 1955 – 1963. Elsa was a member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, the Welland German Club, Welland Senior Citizens Club and the Atlas Retirees Club of Welland. The family would like to extend their heart felt thanks to Ron and Anna Smith for all their care and compassion. Friends will be received at the JAMES L. PEDLAR FUNERAL HOME , 1292 Pelham Street, Fonthill on Wednesday, November 2nd from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service to honour Elsa’s life will take place at the funeral home on Thursday, November 3rd beginning at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Fonthill Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy donations may be made to The Canadian Cancer Society or St. Matthews Lutheran Church.
