Due to the recent government guidelines regarding COVID-19 social isolation, we were unable to hold our usual Easter service this year. In place of that, Pastor Jukka requested the organists, at First Lutheran and St. Matthew’s, play a few hymns on Sunday mornings.
ELCIC National Bishop, Susan Johnson, invited members from across the church to join with the Anglican Church of Canada and other churches nationwide, to make a “joyful, hopeful announcement, wherever you are, by ringing bells at 9:00 a.m. (local time)”
In keeping with the invitation, Pastor Jukka, being the pastor of First Lutheran and St. Matthew’s, asked both church organists to play a few hymns on Sunday mornings at 10:00 a.m., and ring the church bell at First Lutheran. “These small actions are to remind us that through the good and the bad we, as Christians, are never to stop praying, caring for one another, or singing our praises, joys and sorrows before the Almighty.”
