Hill, Rita C.: July 17 1921-November 23 2019. Peacefully in her 99th year. Beloved wife of the late John A Hill (2005). Dear mother of Kenneth Hill (Debra) of Oakville and Nora Peter (Les) of Courtland. Predeceased by her sons John Hill (2016), and Richard Hill (2010) and her great grandson Silas Peter (2015). Cherished Grandma to Catherine Fox (Jeff) of Fairview PA, Stephanie Ignagni (Perry) of Paris, Jonathan Peter (Kathryn) of Norwich, Blake Hill (Shamima) of Toronto, Geoffrey Hill (Catherine) of Kanata, Jordan Hill of Calgary, J.J. Hill of Welland, David Hill (Rachelle) of Burlington, Taylor Hill of Litchfield Park AZ and Austin Hill of Litchfield Park AZ. Beloved “GG” to 12 great grandchildren. Rita was a retired employee of Canada Post where she worked for more than 20 years. She was a long time member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church. Rita enjoyed traveling, music, concerts and shows, and spending time with family. She never missed marking a family birthday with a special card. More recently as a charter member of the Lookout Ridge Retirement Community she enjoyed playing bridge, going to yoga/exercise classes and especially singing in the choir. A special thank you to her many thoughtful friends from Lookout Ridge and the nurses, doctors and staff on 4th floor at Welland Hospital. A funeral service will be held at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church (57 Griffith Street Welland, Ontario L3B 4G6) on Friday, November 29th at 11a.m.with visitation one hour prior to service time. In lieu of flowers donations to your local Legion Branch Poppy Fund would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences available at http://www.cudneyfuneralhome.com.
