It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of George William Duly on February 2, 2019 at the age of 93, surrounded by his loving wife and children. Beloved husband of Marguerite (nee Misener), proud and loving father of Greg (Delores) and Nola (Mike). Adoring grandfather to Amanda (Mick), Ryan (Echo), Evan, Robert (Velvet) and Meaghan (Ben) as well as his eight great grandchildren Alanna, Tristan, Aaron, Paige, Abigail, Riley, Ryan and Emma. George will be remembered for his love of singing, love of nature and gardening and his faithful devotion to his wife and family. He was known for his ability to make and keep friends, as well as his story telling, wit and humour. George was an active member of the Lutheran Church and a long standing member of their choir. He was known for his generosity in helping others in need and his ability to make all types of people feel comfortable in his presence. Our family is deeply grateful for the wonderful care and personal compassion provided by the dedicated staff of Right at Home, who made his last weeks and hours comfortable, allowing him to enjoy his last moments with his beloved family. Guests are invited to Pleasantview Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 6th, 2019 where a funeral service will take place in the funeral home chapel at 11 am with interment to follow at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens. As an expression of sympathy, donations to St. John’s Evangelical – Lutheran Church, 146 Sligo Road West, Mount Forest, Ontario, N0G 2L1 or the charity of one’s choice would be greatly appreciated by the family. Donations to St. John’s Church can be made in person at Pleasantview Funeral Home or sent directly to the church.
