Installing the New Plaque photos – April 30/18

In 2001 the Welland Local Architectural Conservation Committee (LACAC) designated our building as a Welland Heritage Designated Tour Site and presented us with a plaque which was displayed on the outside wall beside our front entrance. Over the years the plaque became deteriorated and cracked and had to be taken down, leaving us with nothing to show our heritage. Bob Hansen felt our heritage history should continue to be displayed, and arranged for the purchase of a handsome, new bronze heritage plaque. Morley Yungblut crafted a beautiful wooden frame and, with the help of Norm McLeod, installed it on the left side of our front doors where it can be seen by all who enter as well as by passers by.
