On Saturday, May 7th, St. Matthew’s drew a goodly number of bike riders and neighbours on foot, out to enjoy a morning of sun and fun. Many of our volunteers offered the maintenance services that keep bicycles in good shape for their riders (about 18 bicycles inspected). Welland Kinsmen provided several bike helmets which were given away to those without a helmet. Carole McLeod looked after the helmet draw for several lucky cyclists, Darlene Mackler served up free hamburgers, hot dogs, chips cookies and drinks, and our resident barbeque chef, Morley Yungblut, did his usual efficient job on the grill. Many others contributed in various ways to make this yearly event a success. Thanks to all for being such cheerful and willing helpers.
